Madeleine Room Spray
The oldest candle makers in the world, Cire Trudon have been creating candles since 1643. As official manufacturers to the French Royal Court the Room Sprays are beautifully hand crafted. The glass is hand blown in Tuscany and they come with a choice of either squeezer or spray nozzle. Their room sprays (in selected scents only) take their range to another level of intensity and luxury.
Madeleine is named after Madeleine de Maupin the renowned 17th century horsewoman, fencer and dissident. Giving fencing exhibitions dressed in men's clothing, when accused during one of these performances of not being a real woman, she stopped the fight to bare her chest to a captivated audience. At 17 years old she began a fobidden love affair with Charlotte who was subsequently sent to a convent. After disguising herself as a nun Madeleine broke Charlotte out of the convent, starting a fire to cover their escape route. Apon capture, Madeleine was condemned to be burned alive for kidnapping and arson. Receiving a pardon from King Louis XIV, Madeleine went on to perform with the Paris Opera until her early death. This candles has notes of Castoreum, Clove, Lavender, Iris, Jasmine, Rose, Vetiver, Leather, Moss, Patchouli, Tobacco.
