A creative collaboration between burlesque icon Dita Von Teese and Heretic Parfum, Scandalwood is a scent fit for a sex siren, created with the eye of a visionary. A soft, red-lipped whisper with an all-consuming allure.
“Dita is pure alchemy in human form. Collaborating with her on Scandalwood was like creating a scent for a secret film noir no one was ever meant to see. She arrived with an exquisite sense of detail – lace gloves, red lips, and a mind full of velvet and mystery. We spoke less about notes and more about mood: candlelight on skin, the hush of silk, the whisper of forbidden things. From that, Scandalwood was born – smoky, sensual, unapologetically intimate.” – Heretic founder and perfumer, Douglas Little.
Naturally occurring musk notes can only be achieved working with ingredients that are derived from animals. Heretic is completely cruelty free, so for this particular fragrance, they had to rely on certain synthetic notes to achieve the musk chord they wanted in this seductive scent. They then combined those musky notes with naturally derived materials in Heretic’s usual fashion, and the result? A carnal and mysterious fragrance that dives deep into velvety sandalwood, roses wrapped in leather, and sparks of coriander.
This scent is seductive, creamy and musky. Soft and sensual like the gentlest touch on soft skin, but with a darker, more alluring base full of intruiging depth.

HOW IT WEARS
When you first spritz Scandalwood, you’re immediately hit with the smooth, velvety creaminess of sandalwood. Once it’s been on the skin for a minute is when things start getting real hot and heavy though – you pick up the soft sweetness of the florals, barely detectable but still there. Coriander seed lends a slightly spicy, earthy edge to the scent, paving the way for a base of musks, resins and woods. The sandalwood is of course persistent throughout the wear of Scandalwood, and paired with musk, creates this intoxicatingly sexy your-skin-but-better feel. We get anywhere between 6-8 hours of wear with Scandalwood with an intimate projection.
LORE LOVES
Scandalwood has been a best-seller at Lore since its launch – it’s honestly hard to find someone who doesn’t like this fragrance! Being a Dita collaboration, it was always going to be sexy and sensual, but it’s not too overt. It’s subtle, like a whisper in your ear, the brush of a hand on your leg or a lustful glance. Texturally, it’s like silk stockings or an expensive négligée – come on, what could be more Dita than that? The way Scandalwood effortlessly melts into the skin means it never feels overwhelming, making it very easy to wear. We’ll be honest, spray with caution, because Scandalwood tends to have an aphrodisiacal effect.
