The best vanilla fragrances

All about vanilla

We all know and love the scent of vanilla, and there’s a reason for that!
Aromatherapists say it’s relaxing and calming, patissiers say it’s delicious (it’s the most popular flavouring agent in the world) and it’s been rumoured to even have aphrodisiac qualities… nothing “vanilla” about that! 😉

Vanilla originates from Mesoamerica, where Indigenous people cultivated the Vanilla Orchid for the purpose of flavouring food as well as for use in medicine. After the Spanish Conquest of the 1500s, it made its way across the world and quickly became beloved by all who encountered it.

It wasn’t until the 1900s that we started to see vanilla appear in perfumery, and it quickly became a staple in the perfumer’s palette due to its ability to enhance and enrichen the notes it’s paired with. Its sweet, creamy, and slightly spicy aroma complements almost every class of note, which is why it’s so universally loved!

We all remember the vanilla fragrance craze of the 90s, and in 2024 we’ve noticed it’s back, but this time with a twist! People of course still love those delicious gourmand vanilla fragrances, but we are seeing a lot of vanilla paired with woods, leathers, and deeper earthier notes making for some absolutely intoxicating new perfume releases.

So in light of the vanilla trend we’re seeing, we’ve put together a little list of our favourite vanilla fragrances for you, each one a little different from the other.
