Inspired by Queen’s Dock in Glasgow, which existed from the 1870s to the 1970s. A major dock that saw the comings and goings of countless goods brought to land by water.  

Held in the customs house, the wistful spiritmaker plunges their head into the last empty barrel, where cooper-fired sweet nothings whisper and swirl.

HOW IT WEARS
A boozy fragrance like you’ve never experienced, Spiritcask actually opens pretty gentle, with a softly sweet combination of ylang-ylang, jasmine, pear and chamomile. As it settles it gets more and more boozy, but like liquor poured over ice – sheer and light. Cognac, rum and whisky are muddled together in the heart, creating a delicious alcoholic warmth, before the concoction is proverbially soaked into the wood of the barrel. What it leaves behind is a woody, oaky, vanilla/caramel aroma that still retains elements of light freshness from the opening. 

LORE LOVES
We find that boozy fragrances can often be quite literal (which is awesome!) but we love this interpretation – Spiritcask suggests the past presence of liquor rather than the current presence of it. It’s an empty barrel that once had whisky or cognac inside it, but the barrel also has its own smell that plays into the composition. This is a great scent to wear if you love a boozy fragrance but don’t want to smell like you’ve been out all night drinking.
