HOW IT WEARS
Japanese Whiskey begins, unsurprisingly, with a photorealistic whiskey accord – warming, boozy, and pleasantly prickly to the nose. As it settles, it becomes less literal, opening up to reveal its other facets. Chestnut adds a sweet, toasty quality, as does the malted barley – biscuity and caramelised. Clary sage contributes just a hint of herbaceousness to cut through the richness of the fragrance, which is underpinned by the warm earthiness of oak. A perfectly balanced composition, just like a really good whiskey.
LORE LOVES
This fragrance is smooth, rich, and luxurious – honestly we think “classy” is one of the most apt descriptors we could use for it! We love that even though it starts quite alcoholic, once it’s settled it turns into a mellow, warm, woodsy gourmand. Fitting, as Japanese whiskies are known and praised for their lighter, more delicate flavour profile.
