The fifth fragrance in the 32.JULI collection, 23:59 is like the moment an evening draws to a close and time seems to stand still for a moment. An echo of warmth in the darkness.
23:59 explores the final minute before midnight. The last guests have departed, yet the room still carries the atmosphere of the evening. The last of the cognac catches the candlelight, revealing wisps of smoke drifting across the oak panelling, while traces of espresso and caramelised desserts linger in the air. The room seems to echo with the evening that has just passed, as though it has absorbed every conversation within its walls.

HOW IT WEARS
Beginning with a gourmand swirl of espresso, crème brûlée and vanilla, 23:59 opens warm, rich and sweet. As it begins to settle, it becomes more oak-y, woody and resinous. The oak here is deep and nutty, the guaiac wood both smoky and creamy, and the benzoin and opoponax add a balsamic, caramelised, moody intensity. The dry down is an addictive, sensual smoky gourmand that’ll have heads turning all night long.
LORE LOVES
When we were talking about 23:59 with co-founder Juli, she spoke about taking inspiration from her grandmother’s villa in Poland. Her grandmother was an academic and would often throw incredible parties; hosting poets, artists, philosophers and intellectuals. There would be stimulating conversation, booze, incredible food made and eaten, cigarettes smoked. The villa was wood-panelled and filled to the brim with books. 23:59 serves as an olfactory depiction of one of those parties. An highbrow gourmand, if you will.
