Spring Festival is part of d’Annam’s Chapter 3 series, Majestic China. Vast and luminous, China stands as one of the great cradles of civilization, with landscapes that stir the soul and a legacy that shaped the world. Each fragrance in this series is a passage: to a scholar’s desk, a tea house at dawn, a lantern-lit reunion, a road that once connected empires, a precious childhood memory… Let each scent take you on a journey.
Every year, millions across China journey home to reunite with family for Lunar New Year. Spring Festival captures this joyous season with notes of mandarin, plum blossom, and candied hawthorn. A scent of celebration and belonging.

HOW IT WEARS
Beginning bright and fruity with a combination of mandarin, jujube, hawthorn, after Spring Festival has spent a bit of time on the skin it gets more ambery, even a little powdery due to the plum blossom and red lanterns. As it wears however it kind of oscillates between juicy fruits and that caramelised spicy amber, settling down deeper than you would expect.
LORE LOVES
Tanghulu is a famous Chinese dessert featuring candied hawthorn fruits, usually served on a stick. If you’re not familiar with hawthorn, they’re kind of like crab apples – a delightful mixture of sweet and sour. This fragrance captures that beautifully and featured alongside richly sweet jujube and earthy florals makes for a scent that almost has a vintage feel about it, akin to one of the original Guerlain scents. Vibrant, fruity, ambery and slightly spicy, this fragrance will make you wish it was Spring Festival all year round.
ABOUT THE BRAND
d’Annam is a fine fragrance house from Vietnam – in fact, its name means just that: “from Vietnam”.
After noticing how Western brands were dominating the fragrance market, founder Nick Hoang decided to be the change he wanted to see. What resulted was a brand that celebrates the many diverse cultures of Asia, reflecting their rich heritages and unique points of view. d’Annam is Hoang’s way of amplifying Asian voices and honouring their time-honoured perfume making traditions – many of which long pre-date the Western ones.
d’Annam releases their fragrances in chapters, each an homage to a different Asian country.
The first was Enchanting Vietnam, a love letter to Hoang’s homeland, dedicated to the smells and scenery of his upbringing. Second came Chapter 2: Memoires of Japan, one of Hoang’s favourite places to visit, inspired by the memories he created on his travels. Third, Chapter 3: Majestic China, an ode to one of the great cradles of civilisation, vast and luminous. For Chapters 2 and 3, Hoang consulted with cultural experts and perfumers from those countries in order to paint the most authentic and reverent pictures of those places.
Combining tradition with innovation, each d’Annam creation is more than a fragrance, it’s a piece of art, a narrative, a memory.
d’Annam fragrances are cruelty free in accordance with the European IFRA standards, they are vegan, and do not test on animals.
