For The Nose, Alessandro Gualtieri, Sadonaso is about discovering secret desires and pursuing them. To him, there is no purpose in life beyond the pleasure of the senses.
Sadonaso is therefore utterly hedonistic. It’s sweat in the pursuit of satisfaction. It’s the free and unabashed pursuit of one’s deepest longings, of total self-indulgence. It is a journey of discovery, a plethora of new sensations and emotions that can be explored and savoured, materialised as we sweat in pursuit of self-creation. The incomparable, exhilarating feeling of asking for what you want and getting it, even if it is a little taboo.
Translating to something akin to “sadomasochist nose”, Sadonaso’s name cheekily hints at BDSM themes, as does the scent itself. Come on, it wouldn’t be a Nasomatto fragrance without a little innuendo!
The caps of the Sadonaso bottles are made out of beech wood lacquered in layers of black paint with a transparent, shiny finish, mimicking latex.

HOW IT WEARS
Sadonaso opens loud, with the scent of rubber or latex mixed with dirtier, smokier animalic notes. As it begins to dry down, the sweeter notes come through – perhaps coffee, honey, and definitely vanilla. It has a warmth to it, almost a booziness, which as it develops turns ambery and resinous. This fragrance, as a Parfum, will easily last 8+ hours on the skin, and even more on hair or clothes (not that you’ll be wearing them for long after spritzing Sadonaso!)

We love the controversy Sadonaso has churned up – classic Alessandro Gualtieri! Believe it or not though, Sadonaso is actually really wearable. The opening is definitely dynamic, but the dry down is smooth, sweet, a little smoky and super, super sexy. It lingers like a whisper in the dark. We imagine this as the scent of one of those underground clubs in Berlin, everyone clad in leather, latex, or nothing at all, illuminated only by red and pink neon lights. Everyone there is completely free to be themselves without judgement, which is what this fragrance is all about!
ABOUT THE BRAND
Nasomatto, meaning “Crazy Nose” in Italian, is the brainchild of Alessandro Gualtieri, aka The Nose. The house was established in 2007 by Gualtieri as a desperate outburst after being restricted by the marketing regulations and trend forecasts imposed on him by the commercial multinational companies he had previously worked for.
Therefore, each Nasomatto fragrance is an uninhibited, personal, artistic expression of Gualtieri’s. The Nose doesn’t believe in the olfactory pyramids, neither does he want to reveal the ingredients he uses. He wants those who smell his fragrances to be able to interpret scent in their own way, unencumbered by preconceived notions or biases, giving them the freedom to forge their own olfactory image.

I like the feeling that I’m losing control and I’m not the one making the choices. My involvement is to create something that is alive that will be able to say new things.
