Inspired by the Corryvreckan Whirlpool located between the islands of Jura and Scarba off the west coast of Scotland.
Let’s dance around a smoked-out beach bonfire, skin anointed with sticky citrus char.

HOW IT WEARS
Opening with a peaty explosion of burning salt, seaweed and juniper, Firewater is pretty confronting at first. It’s only once you give it a chance to settle that you can begin to truly enjoy it. The smoke dissipates a little and you’re left with black tea-infused botanicals, sweet yet tart grapefruit and fruity osmanthus, all seasoned with a sparkle of ginger. The dry-down is all about dry driftwoods and sticky labdanum, with wispy smoke from the opening still echoing in the background, like a beachside bonfire that’s been put out with seawater.
LORE LOVES
Firewater is inspired by the Corryvreckan Whirlpool, one of the largest whirlpools in the world, the subject of many a folktale. In fact, the whirlpool is said to be the place where the Cailleach, a Gaelic hag deity, washes her clothes to bring on the season of winter. She and the whirlpool both embody the raw, elemental forces of nature – as does Firewater! It represents a clash between fire and water – two things that should, in theory, oppose, but in this fragrance coexist, though with push and pull between them, just like in the natural world. Smoky, aquatic and botanical, Firewater has an ancient, primordial, ritualistic feeling about it that makes it feel like so much more than just a perfume.
