For this week’s Fragrance Friday, Maxine is talking about one of her new fave fragrances, Nightstand by Perdrisât.
It’s been a go-to summer scent for her – “I usually tend to wear fragrances that are a bit warmer and spicier, but they don’t tend to work as well in summer, so I’ve been going for Nightstand instead.”
Nightstand is described by the perfumer as “A cinematic fragrance reminiscent of the 50s and 60s, a modern wisteria with vintage appeal” and we think this perfectly captures the essence of the scent. This fragrance is so transportive, you can easily imagine it on the nightstand of a young woman in the 50s or 60s, displayed on a tray alongside a silver hairbrush and a jar of cold cream, set upon an off-white doily.

“There’s a lovely licorice note paired with beautiful lilac and wisteria, so it has a vintage softness to it but still a bit of modern-feeling spice.” – Maxine
At the beginning, Nightstand starts off feeling like an expensive, luxurious body cream or sunscreen, but as it wears it turns into a photorealistic green floral scent. It’s delicate and understated, and yet can still withstand the summer heat.
