The notes present in Queen of Silk have been carefully selected to represent a trek along the Silk Road – we begin with Chinese Osmanthus, then pick up Indian Tuberose and Javanese Patchouli. Agarwood colours the fragrance with Middle Eastern influence before Mediterranean Saffron is introduced. You can imagine, thousands of years ago, the prized base notes of Frankincense and Myrrh being traded for reams of precious and rare silk as it made its way across the world.

HOW IT WEARS
Queen of Silk opens with a sensual white floral bouquet of tuberose and magnolia, before the golden warmth of saffron (which remains prominent throughout the wear of the fragrance) beckons in the jammy heart of osmanthus and passionfruit, tempered perfectly by resinous oud and earthy patchouli. The dry down is all about the gentle spice of vanilla and amber, which rest on a bed of intoxicating musk. This fragrance has excellent longevity, and will last 6-8 hours on the skin, leaving a luxurious trail in its wake.

We love the story of Queen of Silk and how well the fragrance embodies both the fabric’s tactile feeling as well as its history. It’s most definitely a rich, sumptuous scent, but is somehow soft and fluid at the same time. It presents a narrative with incredible attention to detail – even the bottle being purple is a reference to purple silk being traditionally worn by royalty.
