HOW IT WEARS
Kimono begins with the lush, bright freshness of magnolia, which settles to become softer and creamier, fusing with the heart notes. In the heart, silk provides an almost cooling, smooth texture that when paired with the powdery notes and lipstick accord create a soft, dry, clean feeling reminiscent of fresh laundry or clean skin, but just a little bit more floral. The dry down reveals the still powdery but ever-so-slightly earthy rice flour, which helps to ground the fragrance and anchor it to the skin.
LORE LOVES
Kimono, texturally, does indeed feel like putting a real silk kimono on naked skin. It’s smooth, clean, fresh and soft. Because it is powdery, it also has a vintage feel to it – like the lipsticks, makeup compacts and talcum powders of yore. The almost savoury earthiness of the rice powder cuts through that and serves to modernise the fragrance and make it something more unique and interesting.
