The hero of v.8 is the Fire Tree accord, which sits right in the heart of the fragrance. Designed to capture the essence and spirit of the distinctive and beautiful Firewheel Tree (Stenocarpus sinuatus), which is known for its unusual and striking red and vibrant yellow flowers. It infuses the fragrance with a unique and captivating floral facet, with hints of red fruitiness and brightness to represent the vivid and fiery blooms of the tree.

HOW IT WEARS
v.8 opens with a bright burst of bitter (but also slightly sweet) orange and sparkles of pink pepper. The top notes quickly fade to reveal sharp incense and the heart note of Fire Tree – earthy, dirty, but also almost fruity. The dry down of the scent is all about wood – sandalwood, akigalawood and benzoin resin create a woody medley that is simply irresistible, while also helping the scent to last on the skin for 6-8 hours.

This fragrance is truly unique… it has the distinct feel of the Australian bushland and the contrasts that exist there – it’s green and earthy yet has a kind of dryness to it, bright yet mellow and calming, refined yet organic. Because of its exceptionality, v.8 has a kind of otherworldly feel to it – we imagine scenes of bush nymphs and mythical native creatures having a secret party, feasting on bush tucker, hiding under fallen trees under canopies of bark, wearing outfits made of vividly coloured native flowers.

Born in Australia, made in France, Map of the Heart was conceived by partners Sarah Blair and Jeffrey Darling. Sarah a film producer and Jeffrey a film director, the brand was formed using film methodology, with a focus on the potent imagery fragrance can elicit. After calling in a team of experts to formulate the scents, the seven-part line came to life.
