THE INSPIRATION
Being a Melbourne-based fragrance house, Ficifolia founder Sophie is intimately familiar with the famous arts scene this city has to offer. In Intermission, she wanted to create a fragrance that could capture the essence of a night out on the town – be it at the Forum, the NGV or a punk gig at a dive bar. Only one thing about these nights is certain, and that’s the fact that you’re going to be surrounded by cool Melbourne natives dressed to the nines – more often than not, in all black.
BLACK AS A WARDROBE STAPLE
There’s a reason black garments are so popular here – they’re versatile, can be dressed up or down, and above all, they’re just tres chic! Just like you need those black staple pieces in your wardrobe, we think you need them in your fragrance collection too. Intermission is the perfect example of such a scent – it’s not overly loud or complicated, but it does have a dark, moody intrigue to it that draws people in. “I think Intermission is the scent equivalent of that black dress or top or pants” – Courtney.

HOW INTERMISSION SMELLS
Intermission is what can best be described as a fresh, aromatic wood. It has some brighter, fresher notes like cardamom and violet leaf, but the dry down reveals spicy vetiver and woods. If you’re a sandalwood fan, you’ll love Intermission’s take on it. “On my skin on the dry-down, Intermission goes kind of buttery and sweet, melding beautifully with my skin. It feels kind of the same as a piece of clothing fitting you perfectly.” – Courtney
