HOW IT WEARS
With a refreshing, invigorating opening of citruses garnished by a little pepper for some extra zing, v.9’s magic really happens when the heart notes are revealed. The tangy apricot-y fluffiness of osmanthus mixes with honeyed ylang ylang, garnished by the warm, sweet powder of mimosa to create a fruity-floral cocktail that feels warm and golden, illuminated by the zesty citrus notes that continue to linger throughout the wear of the fragrance. In the drydown, you pick up the smooth sandalwood, but also the sweet resinous smoke of Palo Santo, which helps to stick the fragrance to the skin while giving it a mystical grounding quality. We find v.9 lasts about 6-8 hours of glorious wear on the skin depending on your skin type.
LORE LOVES
We weren’t sure what to expect from v.9, and upon smelling it, each of the Lore Gals has a different take on how it smells – but maybe that’s because we all experience wonder differently! We do all agree, however, that it’s super unique. Yes, it’s a fruity floral, but not like any we’ve tried before. The citrus is so glorious and vibrant, but is cut through by the savoury sharpness of black pepper. The combination of fruity florals have a sweetness to them, but it’s almost like an unripe sweetness, super green, if not a little tart. One thing’s for sure – it definitely has an uplifting, sunshine-like quality to it. A pick-me-up in a bottle, we think!

Born in Australia, made in France, Map of the Heart was conceived by partners Sarah Blair and Jeffrey Darling. Sarah a film producer and Jeffrey a film director, the brand was formed using film methodology, with a focus on the potent imagery fragrance can elicit. After calling in a team of experts to formulate the scents, the seven-part line came to life.
