HOW IT WEARS
Porcelain is simple, but that doesn’t mean it’s not interesting. When you first spritz it, it smells exactly like unfired porcelain clay – finely-milled, smoothly white and subtly earthen, strangely softly sweet in a powdery way (you’ll know what we mean if you’ve ever done pottery before!). Once it’s had a little time to warm up on the skin, the delicate sweetness of pear mixes with creamy, waxy iris and plush musk for a your-skin-but better scent that lasts hours on the skin but sticks closely to it.

LORE LOVES
This fragrance is so beautifully delicate, just like actual porcelain! A skin scent made of clay reminds us of Greek mythology – Prometheus is said to have sculpted the first human beings out of clay. We love the idea of clay as an unformed material, that derives its meaning and value from being worked on or with, for what are human beings if not that? In a less conceptual way, we can see how you would associate Porcelain with late summer – it has this musky warmth to it just like warm skin that’s spent all day in the sun and then slipped into cool white bedsheets at the end of the day.

ABOUT THE BRAND
Perdrisât is the brainchild of Callum Mitchell; designed, hand-made and bottled in Melbourne, Australia. Born in 2019 and then released to the public in 2022, the brand name comes from Callum’s maternal grandmother, a woman who to him was the epitome of elegance but at the same time had a wicked sense of humour.
Callum comes from a filmmaking background, which is apparent in every Perdrisât fragrance – each one is a character or a vignette, a closeup scene with vivid imagery. While Callum has his own stories and associations attached to each scent, he invites the wearer to bring their own interpretation to the table, as you would when you watch a film.
With a conceptual, fun and tongue-in-cheek approach to perfumery, Perdrisât doesn’t follow trends or seasons. You never know when a muse might appear, so like writing a poem or taking a portrait, Callum aims to respect the unpredictability of inspiration. There is no telling how many stories there are to share, scenes to capture, or memories to be bottled.
With a slow approach to perfumery, Perdrisât aims to avoid overproduction, manufactured in small batches by Callum. Vegan and cruelty-free, each fragrance in the line is formulated with a combination of naturals and safe synthetics (no parabens, sulfates, or endocrine disrupting ingredients). Perdrisât fragrances have a parfum concentration of 22-30% – so on the stronger and longer-lasting side!
