Inspired by the unexpected cinematic moments of real life, Room 1015 introduces Love-O-Matic, a fragrance inspired by love and… laundry?
THE LAUNDROMAT AS A MUSE
Love-O-Matic is a fragrance that prompts you to romanticise your life, even the seemingly boring or mundane bits – like those trips to the laundromat on a weeknight or a weekend afternoon. You sit there and do a crossword, listen to music, doomscroll or just watch your sheets tumble around in a dryer until they’re done. When you think about it, the laundromat is a space full of anticipation, charged with energy (and not just from the washers and dryers going). Everyone who goes there has no choice but to sit and wait, so it kind of makes it the perfect place for a meet cute, where romance meets routine, solitude meets connection, where electric flickers of eye contact are exchanged between loads of washing.
In creating Love-O-Matic, Room 1015 founder Dr Mike wanted to capture the aura of the laundromat: “Love-O-Matic is about letting connection happen — not forcing it, just being open to love in all its forms. Even in a laundromat at 3PM on a Tuesday.”
A CLEAN FRAGRANCE THAT’S NOT BASIC
You may have noticed there’s been a trend in the fragrance world lately – “clean” fragrances.
In typical Room 1015 fashion, Love-O-Matic takes the idea of a “clean” fragrance and gives it an edge, countering the purity of musks with a cheeky bubblegum twist.
It’s a fragrance rooted in real life: laundromats, vintage cinema, and the art of unexpected encounters. It’s emotionally charged fragrance minimalism: a modern, ultra-clean fragrance built without patchouli or leather, but still unmistakably bold – a clean fragrance that’s not basic!
HOW IT WEARS
Love-O-Matic opens quite sweet (like love at first sight!) with strawberry, blackcurrant and bubblegum working together to create a kind of powdered sugar/fairy floss effect on the skin. As it wears, it progressively gets cleaner, like that intoxicating smell of laundry fresh out of the dryer. The dry down, after a few hours, is crisp and clean and bright, like white linen smoothed out over a bed that’s hopefully about to get messed up (wink). The projection of Love-O-Matic is both comforting and enticing, and its lasting power is even better – we get about 8 hours of wear on the skin.

WHY WE LOVE IT
Love-O-Matic is unlike anything Room 1015 has put out before, and we love that – they’re always pushing the boundaries and doing something new and creative. The answer to the question “can a clean fragrance still be cool?” is Love-O-Matic. It’s the perfect fragrance to wear when you don’t really feel like wearing anything too intense but still want to smell good. We also think this is a great couple’s fragrance – it’s got this genderless cleanliness about it that will have you and your lover inseparable – at the laundromat or at home!
