- Description
The body reigns supreme.
Like blood, sweat, sperm, saliva, Sécrétions Magnifiques is as real as an olfactory coitus that sends one into raptures, to the pinnacle of sensual pleasure, that extraordinary and unique moment when desire triumphs over reason. Masculine tenseness frees a rush of adrenalin in a cascade of high-pitched aldehydic notes. The sensation of freshness is gripping. Then the fragrance reveals a metallic side, precise and as sharp as unappeased desire. We are on a razor-edge… skin and sweat mingle, and tastes of musk and sandalwood. The slightly salty marine effect stirs, arouses, and sets your mouth watering. Tongues and sexes find one another, pleasure explodes and all goes wild. Confusion reigns supreme.
A subversive, disturbing perfume. It’s love or hate at first sight. Sensuous jousting is rarely satisfied with half- measures… Who will be the first to surrender?
With almost a cult of love or hate, Sécrétions Magnifiques shook up the perfume world when it was launched, and it still does. A work of conceptual perfumery designed to speak to all the senses at once. One rule: attraction and repulsion.

HOW IT WEARS
Sécrétions Magnifiques truly takes you on a journey throughout its wear, and it’s a journey meant only for the bravest niche perfume lovers out there. Opening with fizzy aldehydes and briny marine notes, Sécrétions quickly descends into its heart notes – an almost sour milk accord, a thick, mineral blood and sweaty adrenaline. From there it oscillates between notes in a way that will have you questioning whether you love or hate it, but one thing’s for sure… it’s interesting! With a compelling projection, this fragrance will give you 6-8 hours of fascinating wear.
LORE LOVES
Sécrétions Magnifiques is certainly not for the faint of heart, but for our lovers of animalic fragrances, you’ll be hard-pressed to find something dirtier and more… human… than this. Depending on the wearer, it can range from offensive to pleasant, but look, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! We have found Sécrétions Magnifiques also works great for layering. If you’re bored of your pretty, feminine florals, layer them with this for a perverted twist.
ABOUT THE BRAND
Founded by Etienne de Swardt in 2006, Etat Libre d’Orange is an ambitious, audacious perfume house. Its name meaning “Free Orange State” in French, this is a house with an emphasis on originality, audacity, authenticity and freedom of expression. Each of Etat Libre d’Orange’s offerings is uncompromisingly surprising and knows no constraints in terms of creativity nor raw materials.
A perfumer for LVMH for many years before going rogue, Etienne de Swardt founded Etat Libre d’Orange with a view to turn the commercial fragrance industry on its head. Its launch certainly made waves, not only due to the raunchy fragrance names, but for the compositions themselves.
Read any review of Etat Libre d’Orange online and you will see a wide range of opinions, from disgusted to delighted, from aroused to inspired. We are obsessed with the daring whimsy of this fragrance house and so excited to have it at Lore!

When my wife and i were in Melbourne and visited Lore, you showed us secretions magnifique and it reminded me of working as a psychologist in prisons, specifically working with very vunerable people in crisis in the high risk medical unit (think padded and hard concrete cells). The notes of blood hit strong and it was a scent I needed to get out of my nose. I hated it but have since grown curious to try it again, and to also show others. I’ve told a lot of friends about that experience and now i’ve bought the sample to show them, should they consent.
This is not a scent i will ever wear on my skin. This is an art piece i spin a tale of when our friends come over for dinner and board games.
Myself, another prison psychologist, and a nurse really have a strong aversion to this smell and feel nauseous when its near. Other friends who havent worked in these settings say “it’s not bad but it isnt good either” and don’t have a reaction.
Since trying it again the second time, it took me back to a different place, when i was in primary school and jumped for monkey bars too far away only to hit my nose on the metal platform at the other end. The notes of pain, adrenaline, blood, sweat, and the sting and pressure in my nose.
This isnt a scent for everyone
But it does bring a curiosity and tale
So i give it 5 stars for that.

I tested this in-store and the initial spray rendered me speechless for 30 seconds. My head felt like it was expanding and my stomach dropped. It was like mushrooms kicking in and being transported to the backrooms, but not in a fun way, more chilling, otherworldly. For me, the opening was the blood note, a genuine adrenaline rush.
My description to my sister during lunch (yes, I wore this through a meal, challenging): “It smells like a sexy woman with a bunch of smeared lipstick just sucked 5 d***s, swallowed, then sloshed lemon water around her mouth and spat it at me while walking past me at the beach.”
I said that but kept sniffing…
Hours 1-3: Alien Hospital
Marine, bodily, frosty, sanitary. Getting wafts of this while eating was off-putting. It felt like being in an alien hospital where they’re about to pr*be you. The metallic blood note mingles with something clinical and cold. There’s a saliva note here that’s actually one of the more pleasant aspects.
Summer Outdoors:
Strangely, if you step outside into warmth and fresh air, this fragrance transforms. Suddenly it’s powdery, fresh, lovely even. The marine note breathes. It seems to need air and movement to become wearable. Indoors and stagnant, it’s mainly clinical metal and salt.
Hours 4-6: Kissed Skin and Saline
Back in the store, the blood note has mostly vanished but something stranger emerges. Medical, fishy seaweed at the beach, metallic, slightly salty, slightly creamy. It smells like clammy skin washed by saline solution and then someone had kissed along the skin wetly, leaving saliva dried there. That dried saliva effect becomes a theme, intimate and oddly tender. Marine but still slightly more aquatic-bodily than oceanic. Still strange, still medical, but there’s something about kissed skin that lingers.
Hours 7+: Aftercare
Settled at home after dinner, this is the most comforting it’s been all day. It genuinely smells like being cuddled up with someone after s*x, in a strangely wholesome way. The scent itself gives you aftercare after the bizarre journey it’s taken you through. Powdery, clean, metallic without the major blood note, close and intimate without too much saltiness. That dried saliva note persists softly. Slightly marine but more like waves on a beach during dusk while you’re wrapped in sweaty sheets with a lover.
Multiple people in store told me “it’s so weird, but it actually smells really nice on your skin.” I think it works with my chemistry in a way I can’t explain.
I simultaneously love and hate this. I’m disgusted one moment and rolling my eyes in euphoria the next. I don’t get it, but I couldn’t stop sniffing my arm. I’m searching for a decant to experiment with layering (it seemed gorgeous paired with creamy lipstick scents like Porcelain by Perdrisat, and I’d love to try it with something warm and fruity), but I know I’ll end up with a full bottle. This is too insane not to own.
4 stars. Not 5 purely because I didn’t like it while trying to eat.
