HOW IT WEARS
Stella’s Rifle opens like a shot – the bright, piquant effervescence of pink pepper announces its arrival. As it begins to wear on the skin, the heady, narcotic jasmine begins to bloom, plush and vaporous. Cardamom and vetiver add a juicy, spicy greenery that makes the jasmine feel super realistic. The base is all about the amyris, balsamic, warm and earthy without weighing down the fragrance too much, keeping the jasmine and pink pepper combo intact.

Prashant, the perfumer and founder of Vararoha, told us that Stella’s Rifle is inspired by Lisa Bonet’s character in the 1987 film Angel Heart. If you haven’t seen it, think Louisiana humidity, magic, heaven vs. hell, and Lisa Bonet looking utterly divine. For us, Stella’s Rifle is mostly about the pink pepper, which ties in to the inspo nicely – you could think of the pink pepper as silver bullets. The jasmine in Stella’s Rifle smells like jasmine in humid heat, when it’s at its most potent and heady. Together, these notes create a palpable sense of powerful sensuality and steamy denseness, backlit by crisp greenery and spice.
