Seas of Inciver opens with a fresh burst of sea salt and ginger, dazzling and iridescent – like a sunset reflecting off a tranquil ocean. The oak moss and liquorice notes are immediately apparent, too, a combination which lends the fragrance that vaguely-edible fleshy depth of an oyster, or skin warmed by a thick layer of salt. The fragrance settles in quickly, gaining an elegant ambery warmth and sweet juiciness from watermelon while retaining the cool charm of its opening. Seas of Inciver maintains this complex, intriguing effect over the considerable duration of its wear, and projects each of these elements stunningly well, too.
