Pentimento is a cornucopia of moreish delights, an extravagant still-life that rewards both wearer and audience.
Decadent ormolu gilded flower details are backlit by the velveteen drapery shimmer of Hazelnut and Broom. Sumptuously smudged Tonka and Carob bean provide a soft halo-glow against the cool polished stone façade of Rum Absolute and the austere crystalline refraction of Tobacco flower. Pentimento is a bouquet that is baroque in its grandeur and is unapologetically rich and indulgent – it is big and encompassing whilst being exceptionally articulate and endlessly complex.
Pentimento celebrates a desire for change. A change of mind brought on by reflection rather than necessity. Pentimento is not the story of repentance but of our desire to approach an idea from a different perspective where change itself is the catalyst, influence and inspiration.

HOW IT WEARS
Dreamlike, Pentimento’s wear ebbs and flows on the skin. To begin with, we actually experience an overdose of rum and vanilla. Then, delightfully, the florals peek their angelic heads out – plush tiaré, orchid and broom flower add a radiant floralcy to the composition that’s both pure and narcotic. As Pentimento wears, it begins to reveal its deeper, richer notes – hazelnut, tobacco flower, and of course that carob absolute. For those not familiar with carob, it has a chocolate-y character, but is more earthy and nutty, which blends perfectly with the vanilla, rum, and tonka bean. This makes for a dry-down that is delectably rich without feeling too cloying or heavy.
LORE LOVES
Pentimento (“repentance” in Italian) refers to when original elements of a painting are later painted over. What better name for a fragrance that reveals and hides certain notes throughout its wear, like looking at a painting in different lights. At first, on the surface, this fragrance may just seem like a rich, boozy gourmand, but those blossomy florals peeking through is what really keeps Pentimento interesting. It’s a romantic tug-of-war between restraint and indulgence, a reminder that two things can be true at once, which makes life all the more interesting!
