HOW IT WEARS
All of Mango Sticky Rice’s notes are apparent on the very first spray: a pulpy, vivid mango grounded by a more savoury rice. The dry down, as the name promises, is sticky, and lingers, but closer to the skin. The effect upon the fragrance’s settling is something like a very expensive, luxurious cream: comforting, soft, bright (mango is a very ‘clean-smelling’ fruit! Almost spa-like). This is aided perfectly by the hint of coconut milk – lactonic and lightly floral, without any twinge of sunscreen or astringent huskiness – that threads through and unites the fruity mango juice and the earthier rice.

This fragrance captures the dessert compliment par excellence: it’s “not too sweet!” As in, hard to get sick of. It dances incredibly nimbly between categories ‘photorealistic gourmand’, ‘clean-skin-scent’ and ‘tropical holiday’, without trying too hard or taking itself too seriously. This ambiguity makes it addictive, more mysterious than one might expect.
