L’Eau Neuve EDP 75ml
Part of the ‘Evocations Collection’, telling the story of the scent of specific locations – sweet, unspoiled, eternal nature. L’Eau Neuve was originally created in 1968 to really encompass the energy and freshness of this era. At this time in history, the younger generation were rebelling against the French bourgeois conventions and what constituted a ‘women’s fragrance’. This fuelled the trend for unisex scents in Europe – Eaux Fraiches, inspired by traditional colognes but more concentrated in their juice to create a more impactful scent. L’Eau Neuve epitomised the Eaux Fraiches emerging – the new generations movement, the specific time in history and the women demanding to wear this kind of fragrance. L’Eau Neuve was the signature fragrance of this new generation. With a chic yet laid back elegance, L’Eau Neuve represents the love, peace, freedom and essentially the revolutionary energy of the 1960’s. With an aromatic opening then a gentle, grounded, earthy feel - of course the Patchouli lies below the surface as any good fragrance from the 1960’s does!
Top: Lemon, Orange, Lavender, Bergamot
Middle: Thyme, Clary Sage, Coriander, Marjoram
Base: Patchouli, Cedar, Sandalwood, Oak Moss
Roger Broudoux, Thomas Fontaine
HOW IT WEARS
L'Eau Neuve opens with a refreshing hit of Citrus that is quickly softened with the aromatic herbs and gentle Lavender notes blending beautifully on the skin. Creating a warm, freshness with a zesty, aromatic sparkle is the perfect description for L'eau Neuve. Easy to wear, the earthy tones do stand out in the dry down yet never overpower this scent, we generally get around 8 hours wear of this Eau de Parfum. A wonderful fragrance created over 50 years ago yet timeless and surprisingly modern in its composition.
We love the hope and optimism that this fragrance represents, imagining wonderful, independent and intelligent women of the 1960's wearing this fragrance. There is a subtlety to this scent and a wonderful grounded warmth that reminds us of that feeling you get on a warm day as you walk barefoot on the grass, sun on your shoulders, appreciating all of the simple pleasures in life.
