‘REVENANTS’ presents a collection of olfactory impressions of figures from Britain’s past. Characters from our history whose presence lingers, subtly. Vol 1 – ‘Iron Duke’ is a tribute to Arthur Wellesley, Duke Of Wellington (1769 – 1852). The Iron Duke is a strikingly powerful fragrance with animalic depths – an apparition of the celebrated horseman, warrior politician and sartorial pioneer. A charmer and a ladies man, the Duke loved his horse ‘Copenhagen’ who was a national hero. The Duke would stop and give pretty ladies a lock of his horses hair a they passed through villages.
The Iron Duke recreates the vision of the Duke with Copenhagen, a smooth, earthy scent with Leather (and slight anamalic qualities) and a soft smokiness. A seductive scent on the skin, the Iron Duke tells the tale of the charming warrior and his horse.
The bottle artwork is by renowned Tattoo Artist Robert Gisbourne-Ashby.

HOW IT WEARS
Beaufort’s Iron Duke is an Eau de Parfum you’ll be enjoying for up to 8 hours on the skin, if not, as with all the Beaufort fragrances, much longer. Sweet, earthy notes of tobacco, rich leather & hay contrast stunningly the bright clean saddle soap and slightly metallic tones with a dash of citrus juiciness, lending an air of effervescence for a delicious and tenacious wear.
We adore how this scent smells exactly like the kind of man it’s inspired by. A well esteemed, impeccably put together military man of high regard. Pristine uniform and accoutrements atop his graceful steed…all leather boots, gloves, saddle and cool, shiny metals. The effervescent tang of warm sweat, saddle soap and leather create a sensual and animalic combination for a rich, masculine and fleshy kind of clean. Equally adored and admired by men and women alike, the Iron Duke is dark, gorgeous and amazing on the skin. Poised, powerful and ever so sexy.
ABOUT THE BRAND
Beaufort London is an incredibly unique English perfume house created by musician and writer Leo Crabtree. Inspired by Crabtree’s lifelong love of fragrance mixed with his fascination with the darker elements of British history, Beaufort London’s first collection of intense, and bold perfumes is titled “Come Hell or High Water”. Coming from a family history of seamen, Crabtree also references the sea throughout this collection. “The sea, its traditions, superstitions and way of life are ingrained in me. The brand’s name Beaufort London (derived from the 1805 wind force scale conjured up by Naval Officer Sir Francis Beaufort) represents a kind of framework within which we can understand ourselves. The wind in consistent, enduring, but ultimately changeable and potentially destructive.” Crabtree has now begun working on the next collection ‘Revenants’, of which Iron Duke was the first release.
