Each perfume in Albert’s private collection was born from a memory of a place or of a person – transforming them into extraordinary fragrances to conserve them in time.

In 1935 Albert Fouquet decided to fulfill a promise to his lifelong friend Ahmed and travel to his home of Egypt. Also, a dream of Fouquet’s to see the birthplace of fragrance, he reveled in the scents and sights of Egypt. Fouquet was fascinated by Ancient Egypt culture and enjoyed lengthy tours of the Great Pyramid of Giza, the temples of Luxor, and Hatshepsut. He was also curious to discover what was in those extraordinarily aromatic jars offered to the gods to protect the pharaohs, or the scents used to satisfy the revered Cleopatra. Fouquet was also delighted to discover dozens of new flowers during his visit.

Remembering his wonderful trip, Fouquet recreated the scents that he remembered being enamored with whilst on holiday. The gentle spices and earthy notes make this fragrance divine on the skin.

Top: Lavender, Lemon, Moss
Middle: Cardamom, Nutmeg
Base: Leather, Patchouli, Sandalwood

Albert Fouquet

This fragrance is an Eau de Parfum and the longevity with Egypt is gentle but leaves a gorgeous wafting scent that will (almost) always get comments. Although it does settle on the skin after some time, it still remains quite present. An incredible take on a classical Earthy fragrance. With crisp strength and a dreamy creamy almost leathery dry down, Egypt’s Sandalwood mixes effortlessly with Lavender and Cardamom. Egypt blends with ease into the skin, and stays there for the whole day.

We love the soft, smooth spice of Egypt – a really beautiful scent with a smooth and sexy base. The subtle freshness this scent offers, with bold base notes that hugs the skins for hours. Neither the Spice nor the touch of Leather goes astray here, rather they join forces in creating a smooth and sexy scent. Definitely an homage to the birthplace of perfume.

The perfume with history – Eight and Bob was created by Albert Fouquet, the son of a French aristocrat. In a room on the upper floor of the family château, Fouquet created and perfected various essences for his own personal use aided by Philippe, the trusted family butler. At social events his fragrance was in high demand, however, Fouquet continually rejected proposals to market his fragrance. His fragrances were for his own delight, his own creative fulfillment, and very personal as they told the stories of his favourite people and places. This all changed however, one night in 1937 when Fouquet met a young John F Kennedy who fell in love with his fragrance, and the rest, as they say, is history…

I may have done myself an injustice on this scent, I fell in love with it a few years back, I liked its freshness upon opening, i liked its masculine dry down, And i loved the leather. Then one day, i tried this perfume on my boyfriend and wow… ITS SMELT SO GOOD. So i no longer wear it 🙁 But my BF does, Its become one of my favourite “mens” scents in store, i must admit, occasionally i steal a little spritz of the BF, He will never know!

This is a gorgeous scent. Classic without being boring, refined but a hint of rough and tumble adventure. It makes me feel like a handsome explorer ambling through Cairo in the 1920s. The projection is not as powerful as I would like but two spritzes lasted me a good 6 hours or so. A real gentleman of a perfume!
