Each perfume in Albert’s private collection was born from a memory of a place or of a person – transforming them into extraordinary fragrances and conserving them in time.
In 1935 Albert Fouquet decided to fulfil a promise to his lifelong friend Ahmed and travel to his homeland – Egypt. Some consider Egypt to be the birthplace of fragrance, and Fouquet revelled in its sights and scents. Fascinated by the ancient Egyptians, he toured the most famous historical sites Egypt had to offer; the Pyramids of Giza, the temples of Luxor and Hatshepsut. The tombs he visited were full of jars and pots of preserved fragrance – he wanted to discover what aromatics were hidden inside… what were the scents used to adorn the ancient kings and queens of such a dazzling empire? He also visited the markets of modern day Egypt, and discovered new exotic flowers that captured his heart.
Remembering his wonderful trip, Fouquet recreated the scents that he remembered being enamoured with whilst on holiday. The gentle spices and earthy notes make this fragrance divine on the skin.

ABOUT THE BRAND
The perfume with history – Eight and Bob was created by Albert Fouquet, the son of a French aristocrat. In a room on the upper floor of the family château, Fouquet created and perfected various essences for his own personal use aided by Philippe, the trusted family butler. At social events his fragrance was in high demand, however Fouquet continually rejected proposals to market his fragrance. His fragrances were for his own delight, his own creative fulfillment and very personal as they told the stories of his favourite people and places. This all changed however, one night in 1937 when Fouquet met a young John F Kennedy who fell in love with his fragrance and the rest, as they say is history…
HOW IT WEARS
This fragrance is an Eau de Parfum and the longevity with Egypt is gentle but leaves a gorgeous wafting scent that will (almost) always get comments. Although it does settle on the skin after some time, it still remains quite present. An incredible take on a classical Earthy fragrance. With crisp strength and a dreamy creamy almost leathery dry down, Egypt’s Sandalwood mixes effortlessly with Lavender and Cardamom. Egypt blends with ease into the skin, and stays there for the whole day.
We love the soft, smooth spice of Egypt – a really beautiful scent with a smooth and sexy base. The subtle freshness this scent offers, with bold base notes that hug the skins for hours. Neither the Spice nor the touch of Leather go astray here, rather they join forces in creating a smooth and sexy scent. Definitely an homage to the birthplace of perfume.
