HOW IT WEARS
Cutting Rain begins warm and sweet, like a fruit tea infused with strawberries, honey and saffron, garnished with a little slice of grapefruit. As it develops on the skin, we get a lot of violet in the heart, but it’s a fresh violet, just-bloomed with little dewdrops on it. Its greenness is accented perfectly by spicy, warm marigold and the rich splendour of rose, which remain the most prominent notes throughout the wear of the fragrance until it reaches the dry down. Here, creamy Mysore sandalwood and leather ground the scent, adding extra warmth and cozy depth.
LORE LOVES
This is such a pretty fragrance – we love the fruity opening, but think the saffron and violet do most of the heavy lifting. Both of these notes tend to be quite heavy and old-school in perfumery, but because of the way they’re presented in Cutting Rain, they have an aromatic freshness that makes this scent a pleasant and easy wear. You can imagine this fragrance as a refreshing yet warm cup of tea enjoyed in humid heat – it’s soothing, romantic, and will put a smile on the face of whoever tries it.
