Cutting Rain is part of Rahasya’s Debut Collection, a personal interpretation of home – seen, felt, and remembered through the founders’ own experiences. Each fragrance in the collection translates those memories into scent, drawn from moments of warmth, introspection, joy, and celebration.

Each year, as India’s summer heat reaches its peak, there’s a palpable sense of anticipation that builds in the air – a yearning for the arrival of the first monsoon rain. Beyond sustenance, these rains rejuvenate ecosystems and inspire cultural celebrations. For the Rahasya founders, the monsoon rains represent fresh respite from the summer heat, new blossoms in verandahs and warm cups of chai with loved ones.

Using a blend of notes such as saffron, grapefruit, rose, marigold, sandalwood and tea, Cutting Rain is an artistic interpretation of the joy of monsoon rains.

HOW IT WEARS
Cutting Rain begins warm and sweet, like a fruit tea infused with strawberries, honey and saffron, garnished with a little slice of grapefruit. As it develops on the skin, we get a lot of violet in the heart, but it’s a fresh violet, just-bloomed with little dewdrops on it. Its greenness is accented perfectly by spicy, warm marigold and the rich splendour of rose, which remain the most prominent notes throughout the wear of the fragrance until it reaches the dry down. Here, creamy Mysore sandalwood and leather ground the scent, adding extra warmth and cozy depth.

LORE LOVES
This is such a pretty fragrance – we love the fruity opening, but think the saffron and violet do most of the heavy lifting. Both of these notes tend to be quite heavy and old-school in fragrance, but because of the way they’re presented in Cutting Rain, they have an aromatic freshness that makes this scent a pleasant and easy wear. You can imagine this fragrance as a refreshing yet warm cup of tea enjoyed in humid heat – it’s soothing, romantic, and will put a smile on the face of whoever tries it. 

ABOUT THE BRAND
Founded in 2024 by three childhood friends, Rahasya (meaning mystery/secret/enigma in Hindi/Sanskrit) is all about embodying the modern Indian identity through fine fragrance. 
Singapore-based founders Sai, Sachit and Utkarsh were Indian expats always looking for ways to connect to home when they discovered the transportive powers of scent. As they became increasingly passionate about fragrance, they noticed that despite India’s rich perfume history, it wasn’t represented in the global fine fragrance market. So, all three of them left their corporate jobs in Singapore to put Indian-inspired niche fragrances on the map!
Rahasya reflects a contemporary India, taking inspiration from its new-age music, art, and culture. It’s a rejection of stereotypes, of identity being reduced to aesthetic – instead, it’s a reclamation of authenticity and of nuance. Each fragrance heroes Indian ingredients, creating olfactory imagery that’s deeply rooted in the founders’ own experiences and memories of India.
