Perdrisât’s Autumn collection is an olfactory portrait of a big shiny city full of even bigger characters. Each fragrance in this melodramatic collection is vibrant, theatrical and striking. Starfucker is the promising young starlet who has just managed to break into the mainstream, thanks to the the big-wig producer, Daddy, who has just set his sights on new-girl-ingenue Coquette. When Starfucker finds out, she throws a drink in Daddy’s face, Crocodile Tears streaming from her beautiful eyes. Hush Money makes the whole drama go away. It reads as one big soap opera. Or a modern Greek tragedy? Persephone, Zeus, Adonis and Aphrodite?

HOW IT WEARS
Beginning with syrupy-sweet, juicy yet tart passionfruit, as Coquette begins to settle it gets more marshmallow-y. In the heart it turns more creamy and lactonic, the Chantilly cream adding a fluffy lightness to the composition. The magnolia peeks her head out after the fragrance has worn on the skin for a while – warm, her fruitier facets perfectly complimenting the passionfruit (which stays prominent throughout the wear of Coquette), but also contributing just a hint of indole. Coquette will last on the skin for hours, sticking to it like a smile after eating one of your favourite summery sweet treats.

LORE LOVES
While Coquette means a “flirt” in French, more recently it’s become associated with an aesthetic that centres around embracing femininity in a youthful, playful, self-aware way. This fragrance perfectly exemplifies that! It’s sweet, fruity, and reminds you of childhood in the best way. In fact, we associate it with the scent of a pavlova at the height of summer, passionfruit coulis drizzled over meringue that’s crisp on the outside and marshmallow-y on the inside, while sitting under the shade of a massive magnolia tree.
