Curious succulent stems, prolific pads and bizarre scaly branches reach to the sun God, basking in the scorching heat. We have been abducted by the genus Cactaceae or cactus, a family comprising 127 genera with some 1750 known species. Not usually celebrated for their fragrance, Heretic have drawn inspiration from the mysterious night-blooming Cereus, an alien flower pollinated by bats that exudes a spicy, green and addictive aroma into the inky midnight sky.

With Cactus Abduction, you may discover mood-lifting effects from the Ayurvedic properties present in its natural ingredients. Bitter orange is an uplifting mood-enhancer that keeps the outlook bright. Geranium eases anxiety and keeps the mind & body centered. Vetiver ensures you stay grounded, centered, and full of inner peace.

HOW IT WEARS
Cactus Abduction opens with bright citrus notes paired with the crisp green snap of carrot seed, cedar and galbanum. A verdant heart chord of geranium absolute, spicy green pepper and juicy prickly pear dries into the verdant and mineralic notes of aloewood, vetiver, hints of patchouli and elegant Siam benzoin. This captivating and unique all-natural fragrance will 4-6 hours on the skin.

We love the original concept behind Cactus Abduction… it’s not a fragrance like we’ve seen (or rather, smelt) before. It has something otherworldly and ethereal to it – it’s hard to pin down exactly what it is you’re smelling. It’s like a fresh breeze, and yet there’s a mysterious depth lying just beneath. It’s nighttime in the desert – the air has cooled down, the moon illuminates the almost prehistoric landscape, and all the creatures that hide away during the heat of the day have come out to play. This is a scent for those with curious minds – adventurers, explorers, non-conformists, heretics.

Cactus Abduction is built around a petrichor note, which is the scent of wet stone or rain. Since this is not a plant-derived scent, this particular fragrance uses safe, non-toxic synthetic molecules to achieve this distinct aroma.     I’ve never smelled anything like this before and it makes me feel nostalgic for something I’ve never had. Similar to the Lore description – it definitely reminds me of being on holiday in the Oaxacan desert as the sun sets and you finally get to breathe in that evening breeze as the temperature cools. My new signature scent for sure.
